Meeting of Shia-Sunni Imams at IHW

Michigan State University sponsored a conference dealing with depression as a serious social problem. The conference was held in the Double Tree Hotel in Detroit.

Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi participated in the conference and was welcomed by two of the organizers, Dr. Jean Wright (on the left) and Dr. Halim Naeem (on the right).

Local Dearborn area religious leaders met with Police Chief Ronald Haddad, his assistants and Dr. Michael Wagers.

He shared with them some of his interfaith experiences between Muslims and non-Muslims, also his stance against the fitna of sectarianism and working for the unity, understanding and cooperation among the Muslim communities themselves!

  In the recent Sadr Foundation Dinner,  Dearborn Mayor John B. (Jack) O'Reilly, Jr. and Imam Elahi took the opportunity to discuss some community issues. They emphasized on the responsibility of every resident as freedom comes with responsibility. The cooperation between the city's houses of worship for the sake of moral education was discussed.
