Murder is one of the most serious sins in our Abrahamic traditions. The Bible says, "Thou shall not kill," while the Quran says a crime against one is a crime against all.

The Quran commands three standards for outreach. 
“Invite all to the way of your Lord with wisdom, gentle words and the most gracious kind of argumentation” (12-125). 

The president offered dialogue, diplomacy and engagement. Obama's message reminded me of his book, "Dreams from My Father," which ends: "We need to remind ourselves, despite all our differences, just how much we share: common hopes, common dreams, a bond that will not break."

Obama has promised to change the tone that the U.S. government uses in dealing with Muslim countries and American Muslims. We already see signs of promoting face-to-face dialogue.

The Old Testament said "An eye for an eye," not 500 eyes for one eye.
Apparently 41 years of occupying, killing and depriving a population of 1.5 million from food, water and medicine were not enough.

Obama must fix not only the economic crisis, jobs, health care and education, but also America's international image, which was severely damaged during the Bush administration.

Many religious communities have observed fasting. The Ramadan fast frees us from some daily distractions and allows for increased internal reflection, spiritual purification and social action.

The foundation of peace does not consist of bigger missiles, death and destruction but wisdom and leadership. That is what America wants from Bush.

Our mother's personality, patience, purity, love, sacrifice, dignity and wisdom give the children the basic understanding of life and truth by which we can ascend to heaven. As the Prophet Mohammad said, "[heaven] lies at the feet of the mothers."

If we can dialogue with and despite their thousands of nuclear bombs, how come we can't have a serious dialogue with , who isn't even making nuclear weapons, based on our own intelligence agencies?

The NAACP may honor whomever it wishes. I hope, though, that other powerful voices at the dinner will call for a true love of all people and a desire for fairness for everyone.

As we honor Jewish peace activists who call for the end of the siege and for peace and coexistence, we remind the friends of that to imprison the 1.5 million people of in a walled ghetto without allowing in food, water, electricity or even fuel for the ambulances to carry the dead bodies is genocide.

More than two million Muslims are on their way to for the annual hajj pilgrimage. Hajj is one of the pillars of the Islamic faith and an obligation for every Muslim who can physically and financially afford it.

As citizens of this blessed and beautiful land, Americans are called to save our country and the rest of our human family from a possible "World War III." The declaration last Thursday by the Bush administration of the harshest sanctions against since the 1979 Islamic Revolution and calling "the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism" foreshadows a new tragedy in the .

The Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan, began Sept. 13 and will continue until Oct. 12. Every adult Muslim who is not traveling, pregnant or nursing and is healthy is required to abstain from food, water, smoking and sex, from dawn to dusk, during this spiritual month.

Summer vacation is a time for barbecues, sleeping in and fun, but it's also an opportunity to reorganize our priorities. To "kill time" in boredom is a bad habit and a regrettable waste of this precious divine gift.
